Meet the artist
My name is Alyssa and I am the owner and lead artist of Artist at Work. My business specializes in designing imagery that enhances spaces that we live and work in through murals and illustrations. In 2010 I received my Bachelor's degree from UTSA in Fine Arts with a teaching certification. I spent 13 years working for one of the largest school districts in San Antonio as an Art Specialist. This is where my love for advocating the importance of art in public places began. I moved on from my teaching career in May of 2023 to pursue my dream of creating murals and illustrations for a larger community outside the classroom. My passion lies in designing work that evokes good energy and positivity.

This heartwarming mural is located in the charming town of Hondo, Texas. It was collaboratively designed with a local business owner to convey meaningful words that resonate with her and her clients. The beautiful bold florals add a pop-up vibrancy to this main street while conveying a sense of care and investment for the community.
Madam Paleta Tequila
Collaborating with a women-owned tequila company that creates flavor-infused tequila, three illustrations were created to reflected the brand’s essence. I crafted illustrations that not only captured the spirit of empowered women, but conveyed balance, strength and fun through color and composition.
Longhorn Residential Project
This custom residential mural is showcasing a majestic longhorn set against a serene Texas landscape. This design transports the family into the heart of Texas through realistic, fine-art painting, enhancing the family’s dining space.
